Autumn Or Fall? October 2010
Well, I guess the answer is “yes”! Whatever you want to call it, it’s here. Cold nights (around freezing) with rain and fog – yuk!
In the “New Websites” department, we have taken in a new (for us) website called CMDC that had gone essentially untouched since 2002! We updated some things, added and subtracted some other things, and added a blog. “CMDC” stands for (in French) “The World Circle Of The Consensus” – I guess it’s easier in French! CMDC is a ten-year-old organisation that is recognised by the United Nations, which makes it an official Non Governmental Organisation – NGO. Probably the most famous NGO is the International Red Cross – Red Crescent (also Swiss), so we are in good company (CMDC is headquartered in Geneva, IRC just up the lake in Lausanne)!
There is also a development on our B&B client’s website – officially it is called “La Porta Di Todi” and is resident at http://bandb-umbria.com, but we expanded it a little and now the website answers under three different URI’s – http://bandb-umbria.com, http://bandb-todi.com, and http://laportaditodi.com. We will – over time – concentrate on La Porta Di Todi as http://laportaditodi.com.
We are also starting a project with Astramedia to develop a corporate website with all the trimmings for GEOCOGEN AG. That will not eliminate the current blog at GEOCOGEN.net, but GEOCOGEN.com will definitely outshine the original blog! Stay tuned – the planned publishing date is around the end of the year.
Guess that’s all for now … Oh, one more thing: we experienced an attack of some sort on our Bulgaria Realtor site just two days ago. I discovered some “foreign” code on the site, and there may be more. Our password was complex, but apparently the entry happened via some other method, since the entry was not logged. It was strange, since it apparently happened just before I went into the site to do some normal maintenance, and discovered problems – just before the screen went flat white! The hosting company is still investigating what might have happened – it’s on an old server (from 2004 or earlier), and maybe the security there is not so great any more. We’ll see.
Ciao!
